Green must stand up to unions, Greens and back ChAFTA

Bryan Green must stand up to his union and Green puppet-masters and unambiguously back the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement.

Labor leaders around the country see the benefits of this deal - New South Wales Labor leader Luke Foley, Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews, South Australian Premier Jay Weatherill and ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr have all publicly given their support to the deal in the past couple of days, recognising the benefits it will bring to the economy, including more jobs and increased exports.

The only people opposed to the deal are the unions, Greens, and those Labor leaders like Bill Shorten and Bryan Green who are too weak to stand up to them.

It’s worth noting that when they were in Government, Labor supported the deal. On October 7th 2013, then Premier Lara Giddings issued a press release welcoming the Federal Government’s discussions.

Ms Giddings said, “the lack of a free trade agreement has been identified as a major impediment to further growth and I welcome the new Federal Government’s commitment to accelerating negotiations.”*

Bryan Green needs to stand up to the union, Greens, and for once in his political life, put Tasmanian jobs ahead of his own job.
