Green must clarify position on majority government

Bryan Green must clarify Labor's position on majority versus minority government.

Yesterday, leadership challenger Scott Bacon went out of his way to contradict his leader on the issue of minority government.

Speaking on ABC radio, Mr Green stated that Labor would govern, "in majority, or not at all”, and added, "People in Tasmania are convinced that the way forward is a majority Government.”

However, just three hours later, Mr Bacon deliberately contradicted his leader, saying that it would instead be a matter for party members following the election, saying, “a question about minority Government will go back to the broader Labor Party.”*

It's clear that despite his insipid protestations, Mr Bacon is intent on taking Mr Green down, and doing a deal with the Greens following the next election, if able.

The ball is now very firmly in Mr Green's court - will he stare down Mr Bacon and hold his position; or will he cave, in order to try and protect his faltering leadership?
