Green All at Sea on Salmon Farming

Labor leader Bryan Green is all at sea on salmon farming.

This morning on HO FM he opposed the Okehampton Bay development, saying: “We shouldn’t at least be growing the industry into the inshore areas.”

Yet at an afternoon press conference he backflipped, and claimed that Labor had not said it opposed Okehampton Bay and that it supported inshore farms.

“There’s no doubt that the inshore farms have the Opposition’s support,” Mr Green said.

He also said that what was needed was to “get the industry together”.

Well, Mr Green did that with the forest industry when he was a Minister in the previous Labor-Green government and we know how that worked out.

This is a man who sacrificed thousands of jobs in regional Tasmania to gain the political support of the Greens and clearly he would do it all again.

The 5200 Tasmanians whose jobs are dependent on our aquaculture industry should be very afraid of a Bryan Green-led Labor-Green government, because clearly he has not changed.
