Grants to support Tasmanian women

The Hodgman Majority Liberal Government has a vision for a more inclusive Tasmania that empowers and enables women and girls.

The Government has now opened the International Women’s Day 2019 Small Grants Program to recognise the important role of women right around Tasmania.

Organisations located in rural and regional areas are especially encouraged to apply for a grant to support their local International Women’s Day event.

The Small Grants Program is a new initiative, providing funding for local organisations across the State to run events on International Women’s Day on 8 March 2019 that celebrate and promote the contribution of Tasmanian women.

Organisations can apply for funding to assist with the cost of their event, which could be a morning tea, a luncheon with a guest speaker, a quiz night, a dinner to celebrate the contribution of local women or a range of other activities that promote and celebrate Tasmanian women.

All events will be advertised through the Tasmanian Government’s International Women’s Day Calendar of Events on the Department of Communities Tasmania website.

Application forms for the International Women’s Day 2019 Small Grants Program are available at www.communities.tas.gov.au/csr or by email at csrgrants@communities.tas.gov.au or telephone on 6232 7115.

Applications close 18 January, 2019
