Grants to help support our RSL sub-branches and veterans

Tasmania has more than 10,500 veterans and ex-serving personnel and organisations like the RSL provide invaluable support and advocacy for these veterans and their families.

We strongly support our RSL sub-branches and ex-serving organisations and today we’re opening applications for the Supporting our Veterans COVID-19 Grants Program

Under the program, $500,000 is being made available to eligible RSLs and ex-serving organisations to assist them to find stability through these times of uncertainty so they can continue to support their veteran communities.

Grants of up to $10,000 are being provided to eligible RSL sub-branches and ex-serving organisations with grants of up to $25,000 available to help RSLs and other organisations provide a new service or program to meet identified needs because of COVID-19 restrictions.

With many veterans and their families in vulnerable categories, the valuable assistance, support and advocacy provided by Tasmania’s RSLs and ex-serving organisations has never been more important.

The Tasmanian Government is committed to helping veterans and ex-serving organisations impacted by trading restrictions to maintain viability during the current crisis and continue to provide care and support to veterans and ex-serving personnel.

Applications are now open and will close on May 31, 2020 and decisions on grants will be made quickly and be based on a competitive grants round process.

Eligible organisations are encouraged to contact the Department of Communities, Communities Sport and Recreation division for more information by phoning 03 6165 8388 or emailing csr@communities.tas.gov.au and the application form can be downloaded at https://www.communities.tas.gov.au/csr/Grants/covid-19-supporting-our-veterans-grants-program.
