Grants to Help Revitalise New Norfolk Waterfront, Redevelop Rowing Club

It was my pleasure today to announce grants under the Hodgman Liberal Government’s Community Infrastructure Fund (CIF) that will assist in the redevelopment of the New Norfolk Rowing Club.

A grant of $575,000 to the New Norfolk Rowing Club will allow the first stage of its relocation from the eastern shore to the western shore and the establishment of the new Derwent Valley Aquatic Centre – a home for all water-based activities in the region including rowing, kayaking and community based events.

The Derwent Valley Council will also receive a grant of $59,575, matching funds for the Council’s waterfront revitalisation project on the Esplanade.

This is great news for everyone in the New Norfolk community, and is another example of how the Government’s Community Infrastructure Fund is working to provide valuable upgrades in communities right across the state.
