The Government is committed to creating jobs for Tasmanians and today I’m pleased to announce that we have secured 50 new jobs as part of a partnership with DXC Technology.
Two years ago, we worked with DXC Technology to relocate from Sydney to Tasmania, creating fifty jobs. Now, we are working with them to effectively double their workforce to over 100 people.
This will help DXC Technology expand its Enterprise Delivery Centre and will help its Tasmanian operation become one of the leaders in its field in the Australia and New Zealand region.
Tasmania has an exceptional base of talented and skilled IT workers and the 50 jobs this partnership will create will help provide real career paths for Tasmanians who want to work in the IT field in their home State.
The Government, through the Tasmanian Development Board, is providing an assistance package of $1.36 million over five years.

DXC is delighted to be working with the Tasmanian Government and TasTAFE on an initiative that will shape the skills, experience and readiness of our future workforce. Through work placement programmes, we have helped build a pathway for TAFE students in Tasmania to gain real world experience and help them deliver more value in the workplace sooner. It will also help us continue to promote and enhance the calibre and skills of Tasmania’s technology workforce.
The level of recognition from our clients and internally across DXC for our first intakes of students in Hobart has been extremely positive with record customer satisfaction levels. The government’s commitment today reaffirms the success of our programme and allows us to provide even better career opportunities for our workforce in Tasmania. Students joining the DXC Service Desk Centre of Excellence will benefit from fantastic career paths in areas including: Microsoft Dynamics, Network Management, Systems Management and Desktop Engineering.
