The Government is committed to openness and transparency. We are the first Tasmanian Government to proactively release information on Government spending.
Today, we are releasing an update on spending through ministerial and parliamentary support for the period of September 2016 to February 2017. The Government reports on this type of spending every six months and the next report will be in December 2017.
Households and small businesses have to live within their means and so should the Government. The report shows that we are maintaining our strong focus on fiscal discipline, with spending in a number of areas like entertainment, cars and use of taxis is down compared with the same six month period in the previous year.
