Government continues to deliver more homes for Tasmanians in need

The Hodgman Liberal Government has commenced consultation for Stage Two of our Affordable Housing Strategy, which represents assistance for an extra 2000 households and the provision of an additional 1500 new affordable homes.

Delivering affordable housing for Tasmanians is a top priority for the Government.

Stage One of our Affordable Housing Strategy is on track to assist over 1600 households by June 2019, including the supply of 941 new affordable lots and homes.

Stage Two of the strategy will see the Government invest an additional $125 million  over five years to assist more Tasmanians into homes.

While Tasmania is now a prouder, stronger and more confident place to live, our rapid economic growth has also brought some challenges, which the Tasmanian Government is working hard to address.

I look forward to hearing from stakeholders as part of the Stage Two consultation process as we continue our commitment to provide housing for those most in need, and encourage home ownership programs for low income Tasmanians.
