The Hodgman Liberal Government is proud to support the Digital Garage workshop hosted by Google Australia in partnership with the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Hobart, today.
Small business is the engine room of Tasmania’s economy and in an increasing digital world it’s important they have the skills and tools to create and maintain an effective online presence.
The aim of the Digital Garage workshop is to raise awareness among small businesses in Tasmania of the Google developed website which provides high quality tools and content that can help business owners better understand the benefits of using the web and develop a level of digital capability.
About 100 small business owners and representatives are attending the workshop which will cover how to use the Digital Garage website, current technology and consumer trends, marketing concepts and how to optimise web findability.
We know that some small businesses are not fully utilising the digital tools available to them, which is why this workshop is so important.
Supporting this workshop is just another way we are Building Your Future with our target to increase employment in small business by 10 per cent by 2022, which would see another 10,000 Tasmanians find jobs.
The Hodgman Government through Business Tasmania and the Digital Ready program is committed to helping small businesses in Tasmania to grow and create more jobs for a stronger economy, and workshops like this will only further help small businesses to reach their potential.
