Go behind the scenery this winter

Tasmania has a different way of doing things in winter. While other parts of Australia might endure winter, we embrace it and showcase what Tasmania is all about.

Tourism Tasmania today launched its largest promotional campaign for the year, encouraging visitors to embrace the Tasmanian winter.

Tourism Tasmania’s $3.5 million winter campaign will target key segments in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane as well as regional Victoria, New South Wales and south-east Queensland.

The marketing program includes advertising through print, digital, billboards and public signage, as well as content partnerships with a number of leading publishers, and partnerships with commercial travel sellers and airlines.

In recent years, Tasmania’s winter events program has become increasingly diverse and increasingly popular. Tasmanians and visitors alike can enjoy Dark Mofo, the Festival of Voices, the Huon Valley Mid-Winter Festival and Tasmanian Whisky Week during winter, which all bring an inimitable, edgy and unconventional reason to visit and participate.

The Tasmanian Government has been committed to developing a broad ranging events calendar to encourage visitors to explore every region of Tasmania, particularly during the traditionally quieter winter months.

The Tasmanian community increasingly revels in the season and are ‘out and about’, seeking to be enriched, alive and connected, and we are inviting visitors to come and experience this for themselves.
