Get set for Gone Nuts Trail Run

Runners from around the State and across the country will be taking their marks today for the inaugural Gone Nuts Trail Run.

Starting at the Nut, Stanley, the track will take runners on a 101km scenic journey amongst the landscapes of the North West, through the beautiful Rocky Cape National Park, finishing at Gutteridge Gardens in Wynyard.

The Hodgman Government, through Events Tasmania, has provided the event with $55,000 over three years to help make the occasion a successful one.

The Trail Run will showcase the spectacular sights and natural landscape that make the North West such an amazing place.

With some parts of the trail crossing privately owned land, the event is a unique experience for participants to see parts of the State normally inaccessible to most people.

This promises to be a whole of family event, with a 50km, 25km and a kids race to cater for people of different ages, and levels of physical fitness.

The inaugural event has been made possible thanks to the support of the Waratah-Wynyard Council, the Circular Head Council, and the Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service.
