Free Metro bus travel for Veterans on ANZAC Day

The Liberal Government is pleased to offer free Metro bus travel on ANZAC Day to Veterans, War Widows and other service personnel.

We appreciate the significant contribution these people have made to our country and providing free travel on this important day of remembrance is the least we can do.

Members of the Australian Defence Forces – the Australian Army, Royal Australian Navy and Royal Australian Airforce are all entitled to free travel on ANZAC Day provided they are in uniform.

For Veterans and War Widows to be eligible for free travel on Metro service they should:

-       Wear their uniform

-       Wear their service medals

-       Wear an ex-service association, returned from active service of war widows badge

-       Present their DVA card.

As Friday April 25th is a public holiday, a Sunday/Public Holiday timetable will be operating on this day.

Due to ANZAC Day ceremonies road closures will occur in a number of areas. As a result passengers may be affected by temporary service alterations at various times.
