Forestry Update

I have been advised by industry that the Bunnings and Officeworks announcement is not expected to impact on native forest products sourced from Tasmania.

Bunnings and Officeworks have announced that third party certification will be required for native forest products sold through their stores from December 2020.

Native forest wood sourced from Sustainable Timber Tasmania is already covered by third party certification through the Responsible Wood Program for Endorsement of Forest Certification.

STT, with the support of the Government, is also pursuing certification through the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). This application is currently progressing, with an audit to be scheduled following the finalisation of the FSC Australian Standard.
