Extra outlets for emergency assistance grants

Emergency Assistance Grants for bushfire-affected Tasmanians will be available at Dover today, and Service Tasmania service centres in Launceston and Burnie today and over the weekend.

This is in addition to existing outlets at evacuation and respite centres, and Service Tasmania in Hobart.

Dover outlet on Friday 1 February

  • Esperance Multi Purpose Centre, 15 Chapman Ave, 10am-3pm

Outlets from Friday 1 February to Sunday 3 February:

  • Huonville: Baden Powell Scout and Guide Hall (near the Huonville Evacuation Centre at the PCYC), from 9am
  • Hobart: Service Tasmania, 134 Macquarie Street, 9am-5pm all days
  • Launceston: Service Tasmania, Henty House 1 Civic Square, 8:30am-4:30pm Friday, 9am-5pm Saturday and Sunday
  • Burnie: Service Tasmania, Reece House 48 Cattley Street, 8:45am-4:45pm Friday, 9am-5pm Saturday and Sunday

The grants of up to $1000 - $250 per adult and $125 per child – are for Tasmanians who have been displaced and require clothing, food, transport, shelter and personal items.

All residents from the local government areas of Huon Valley, West Coast and Central Highlands that have been affected due to fire and/or smoke are eligible for assistance.

Applications must be made in person and photo identification with proof of address is required to confirm eligibility for the grant.
