Expressions of interest sought for new southern Magistrate

Expressions of Interest are being sought for a southern Magistrate.

The Government is committed to ensuring all Tasmanian’s have access to an efficient and effective justice system.

Expressions of interest advertisements will be placed in all major Tasmanian newspapers tomorrow.

To be eligible for appointment, a candidate must be an Australian lawyer within the meaning of the Legal Profession Act 2007 with not less than five years' experience as a legal practitioner. A person is not eligible for appointment as a magistrate if he or she has attained the age of 72 years.
