Ex-pat return boosting population

ABS figures released today show that Tasmania has the strongest net interstate migration of any state in 2016-17.

The figures show that the population is growing at the fastest rate since 2011.

Best of all, these figures suggest that Tasmanians who left the State to live on the mainland are now returning home.

Under the last Labor-Green minority Government well over five thousand more people left Tasmania to move interstate.

Under the strong, majority Hodgman Government, people are excited by the opportunities and the unbeatable lifestyle that Tasmania has to offer.

At the election Tasmanians will get to choose whether they want to see this positive growth continue under the Hodgman Government or whether they want to wave goodbye to their friends and family at the airports under another minority Labor-Green Government, because that’s exactly what will happen.
