The Hodgman Liberal Government is committed to creating a job ready generation of young Tasmanians, and safe and inclusive school environments are important to support student learning.
As students stand up to bullying on the seventh National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence, we are announcing the 23 Tasmanian Government schools which will trial a new eSmart Schools program.
Delivered in partnership with the Alannah and Madeline Foundation, this program will be trialled in early 2017.
Students are part of an increasingly digitally-reliant world, and parents are looking to schools for answers. This program will give schools the tools they need, and build on the available resources to improve cyber safety and increase digital literacy
Snug Primary School is one of the 23 schools which will take part in the trial, and students have today shown their dedication to help reduce cyber bullying in school and at home.
Funded at $157 000 per year over four financial years, the Government shares the Alannah and Madeline Foundation’s goals of enabling children to access digital information in a safe, smart and responsible manner.
