Tasmanians looking forward to Cracker Night this Saturday are encouraged to have fun, but take care.
This year, a total of 514 type 2 firework display permits have been issued, with strict conditions designed to ensure safety and minimise disturbance to other people and animals.
While I hope Tasmanians enjoy these displays, it is important to be aware that they can be dangerous, and children and animals in particular should be kept safe.
