Electrical safety service tenders sought

The Hodgman majority Liberal Government is a strong supporter of our building and construction sector, and we are committed to further investment and jobs across the industry.

Tenders are being sought for the provision of the multi-million dollar state-wide Electrical Safety Inspection Service.

The inspection service plays a key role in keeping Tasmanians safe by inspecting both new and existing residential and industrial electrical work, ensuring it is compliant with regulations.

The successful contractor will be required to maintain Tasmania’s nation-leading inspection regime ensuring a high level of electrical safety.

Tasmania is currently the only state that attends to every report of electrical shock with no direct cost to consumers and this service will continue under the new contract.

The successful contractor will be managed by Consumer, Building and Occupational Services for the five year duration of the contract.

CBOS will continue to manage any required escalation of faults or non-compliance.

Our economic management has delivered the best business conditions in the country, which drives economic growth and helps to create new jobs across the sector.
