Edith Creek Working Group announced

The Hodgman Liberal Government is acting quickly to support the Circular Head community following the announcement that Murray Goulburn will close their Edith Creek facility by the end of 2017.

Today I can announce that we will establish the Circular Head Regional Economic Development Working Group to gather and examine options to assist the region through this difficult time.

Braddon Liberal MP Joan Rylah has been appointed to head up this working group, which will drive a coordinated response to the closure.

The closure news is a blow to employees and the wider Circular Head and North West Community, and the Tasmanian Government will stand closely by those affected by the decision.

I will have more to say about the composition of the Working Group and its terms of reference when, along with Ms Rylah, I visit the Edith Creek facility on Monday.
