The number of dwellings being constructed in Tasmania continues to rise according to the latest Australian Bureau of Statistics Building Activity.
In the year to April 2018, the average monthly number of dwelling approvals has increased by more than 28 per cent when compared to the previous year, with the value of all building work in Tasmania increasing by 25 per cent.
These great figures confirm our plan is working to increase the number of houses in Tasmania, with the market responding accordingly and building the dwellings that Tasmanians need.
It’s also supporting jobs in our building and construction sector that continues to boom under the Hodgman Liberal Government.
Pleasingly, the number of public sector dwelling approvals has also increased by a massive 248 per cent on the last year.
