Drysdale Industry Trainer Scholarships

Nine industry experts from across the tourism, hospitality and events sectors have been awarded scholarships to allow them to share their skills with others in their industry.

The Drysdale Industry Trainer Scholarships are a part of the Hodgman majority Liberal Government's plan to ensure Tasmania has the skills needed now and into the future to support our growing economy.

The scholarships will allow industry experts to gain formal qualifications through TasTAFE and other training organisations to train others in the industry, and share their skills with the next generation.

We know that the tourism and hospitality industry is booming, and that we need to ensure that people working in it have the right skills to help the sector grow even further.

The scholarships are part of Drysdale’s focus on re-aligning its activities to meet current and future workforce demands, as part of a three year action plan for Drysdale, funded through $3.2 million from the State Government to make Drysdale a Centre of Excellence.

The Hodgman majority Liberal Government understands that working closely with industry will help deliver the pipeline of skills needed for growth across all sectors.

The 2019 Drysdale Industry Trainer Scholarship recipients are:

  • Cody McCraken - Partner/Business Manager Wild Pedder
