Different shades of White

It smacks of complete hypocrisy for Labor Leader Rebecca White to today protest with workers who could have lost their job under her anti-pokies policy.

Or, does this mean Ms White is scrapping her flagship Election policy - and will her leadership soon follow?

Ms White might like to forget her flagship anti-pokies, anti-jobs election policy, which led Labor to its third worst election loss, but you can’t rewrite history.

This is the latest in a string of duplicitous actions from Ms White.

In one breath Labor is suggesting we’re going perilously close to being in net debt, and in the next they are demanding higher pay for the public sector.

The Government will deliver a pay rise to our hardworking public sector, with a two per cent increase each and every year now in the Budget. To increase by even one per cent more would cost an additional $25 million per year.

Our budget management has delivered for Tasmanians, built business confidence and created jobs, while Labor has a track record for deficits, job losses and a recession.

It’s clear Ms White would rather play silly political games with the unions than support a budget that the majority of Tasmanians voted for.
