Devonport Maternity Hospital reborn

The Hodgman Government is committed to revitalising Devonport and making the area an even better place to live, work, invest and raise a family.

For too long now, the old Devonport Maternity Hospital has been an eyesore and a stain on the City.

The Hodgman Government has acted and, by working cooperatively with the Devonport City Council, the site will now be remediated.

The old Maternity Hospital will be reborn, transformed from a dangerous eyesore into an area with unlimited potential.

Under the agreement with Council, the Council will purchase the site and the Hodgman Government will provide up to $950,000 to assist with the demolition and remediation of the old Maternity Hospital.

Working with Council we will breathe new life into this derelict site to deliver the best possible outcome for the community.

I would like to thank the Council for their commitment and hard work to help deliver such a positive solution for the community and the region.
