David O’Byrne’s efforts to misrepresent today’s TasNetwork Generators Forum is a thinly veiled attempt at publicity as he tries to firm up support for a leadership tilt.
The TasNetworks Generators Forum was about planning the future of Tasmania’s electricity system, which could unlock billions in investment and thousands of jobs.
The forum was arranged in late June, with invitations sent out on the 30th of July.
While the Government is focused on attracting investment in renewable energy and delivering lower prices, it’s clear all David O’Byrne is focused on is his own future – as Labor Leader.
If a pro-O’Byrne motion is endorsed at the upcoming Labor Party conference David O’Byrne will need just two votes (after his sister) to make Rebecca White declare the leadership open.
