New Deputy Secretary for the Administration of Justice

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Kristy Bourne to the position of Deputy Secretary for the Administration of Justice.

As one of two Deputy Secretaries, Ms Bourne will assist in the administration of justice relating to the Supreme and Magistrate Courts, tribunals, Victim Support Services and the Office of the Anti-Discrimination Commissioner.

Ms Bourne was appointed after an independent selection process and has extensive experience in policy, issues and stakeholder management within the justice sector.  She holds a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours from the University of Tasmania, with her previous roles including as a Solicitor for Herbert Smith Freehills in Melbourne and most recently as the Chief of Staff to Attorney-General Vanessa Goodwin.  She is highly respected within the legal and justice professions and her strategic approach will be welcome in ensuring Tasmanians have access to an efficient and effective justice system.

I congratulate Ms Bourne on this appointment and look forward to her future contributions in improving Tasmania’s justice system.

On behalf of the Government, I also thank Ms Kerrie Crowder for her efforts acting in the role.
