Tasmania’s economy continues to surge according to the latest Deloitte Access Economics Business Outlook Report.
The Report says that the Tasmanian economy is the strongest it has been in years and confirms Tasmania has come a long way since the dark days of the Labor-Green Government that had people leaving Tasmania in droves and drove the state into recession.
The Report highlights Tasmania’s booming exports sector as a key driver in Tasmania’s economic resurgence, stating “Export growth has skyrocketed, bucking the trend seen at a national level.”
It confirms Tasmania has what the world wants, and more exports equals more jobs for Tasmanians and a stronger, growing economy.
Business confidence in Tasmania is also the highest in the nation, with business investment increasing as a result.
Other highlights in the report include:
There is no doubt Tasmania is heading in the right direction and this is just the latest economic indicator that confirms our long-term plan is working.
Recently released ABS figures confirmed 14,660 jobs have been created since the 2014 election, and we will continue to do everything possible to allow Tasmanian businesses to thrive.
Our economy is strong, Tasmanians are the most confident people in the country and we have achieved the highest numbers on record for international visitors.
