The Hodgman Liberal Government is getting on with the job of Delivering on our Plan to Build Your Future with a better, safer road system for Tasmanians that includes a further $1.1 billion investment in road and rail upgrades.
We are building on the past four years of record road investment and in the 2018-19 Budget the Tasmanian Government is committing more roads funding for the South, North and North West to ensure we deliver on our road election commitments.
Our investments in road infrastructure projects across the state support thousands of jobs and help to grow our economy.
Further, we know that better roads save lives and reduce the impact of serious crashes, as well as increase productivity and liveability as commuters travel more efficiently, so we are investing in a number of major road projects.
The 2018-19 State Budget includes $24.1 million for Road Upgrades in the North West and West Coast Regions. Projects include:
These announcements are in addition to the Federal Government's commitment to provide $400 million for roads of strategic importance upgrades, and highlights what can be achieved by two Liberal Governments working cooperatively together to deliver for Braddon.
