Corrections’ art exhibition opens

The eighth annual Artists with Conviction Exhibition opens today featuring work produced by prisoners as well as people on Community Corrections Orders, and Corrections’ staff members.

This year’s theme “Down the Rabbit Hole” has resonated with participants who have produced some raw and honest work.

Artworks feature individual interpretations on the ‘Alice in Wonderland’ theme ranging from painting and drawing to sculpture, writing, photography, design and textiles.

Artists with Conviction aims to increase awareness of the critical role that rehabilitation plays in reducing re-offending, and the importance of providing meaningful and productive programs for people in prison.

The exhibition will be on display until the 6 November 2018 at the Waterside Pavilion in Hobart.
