The Tasmanian Government regards the health and safety of all Tasmanians, particularly our children, as a number one priority.

This means that Tasmanian students and staff who have recently been in Hubei Province in China should not attend childcare, schools, or other educational settings until 14 days after leaving Hubei Province.
All Tasmanians, including parents and carers, should be alert for symptoms in people who were recently in China, including fever, cough and breathing difficulties.
At the time of this statement, there are no confirmed cases of coronavirus in in Tasmania. The Australian Government has advised there is no cause for alarm and the risk to the public remains low.
