I have today tabled the Consolidated Fund Supply Bill (No.1) 2018 and the Consolidated Fund Supply Bill (No.2) in Parliament.
As the 2018-19 Budget has been delayed by several weeks, these bills will allow the Government to continue to fund essential frontline services for Tasmanians before the Budget receives Royal Assent.
This is not uncommon in election years, with similar Bills passing in both 2006 and 2014 in recognition of the additional time required, following a state election, to finalise Budget estimates and the preparation of Budget Papers.
