The Tasmanian majority Liberal Government remains focussed on delivering to maintain the growth and invest for the future.
Since March 2014, there has been 13,500 jobs created, and Tasmania is now leading the nation in many key indicators, including having the fastest growing economy in the country, for the first time in 15 years.
The Quarter Two update on our Building Your Future – Second Year Agenda outlines the delivery of our commitments, which include:
But there is more to do and during the next quarter, we will commence construction of the Agriculture and Trades and Water Centres of Excellence, complete the Launceston General Hospital masterplan and open the first stage of the expanded 4K Children's Ward, as well as begin construction of the North West Regional Hospital Antenatal Clinic.
Critically, none of these achievements would have been delivered without a strong economy.
We have come a long way in the past five and a half years, and we’re determined to keep that momentum and invest strategically so all Tasmanians, no matter where they live, can share in our growing, prosperous state.
