The Tasmanian Energy Security Taskforce today released a Consultation Paper to seek input from interested persons.
The Taskforce is chaired by Mr Geoff Willis AM, with its other members being Ms Sibylle Krieger and Mr Tony Concannon.
“The Taskforce is aware of the broad community concerns that arose earlier this year as dam storages fell to historically low levels and energy security became a ‘front and centre’ issue for all Tasmanians," Mr Willis said.
"We have decided that an early step in examining energy security would be for us to consult widely in gathering all the relevant information and knowledge.”
Submissions in response to the Consultation Paper are invited to be lodged by Friday 9 September 2016.
The Taskforce will deliver a draft report within six months, with its final report to be provided to Government by mid-2017.
