Connecting businesses for growth

The Hodgman Liberal Government is committed to continuing to help Tasmanian businesses make the most of the digital and online world, which is a key part of growing small to medium enterprises to drive economic growth and jobs.

Since 2015, our Digital Ready for Business program has been doing just that, and has assisted more than 5400 Tasmanian small businesses to operate more effectively in the digital economy.

Adding to its success, the recently refreshed Digital Ready for Business website provides businesses with a comprehensive toolkit of fact sheets, video content and other information in an easy to navigate site to use at their own convenience.

The free program provides small businesses with access to targeted knowledge, advice and assistance to improve their online presence and skills so they can seize the opportunities presented by the changing digital technology.

Businesses can easily connect with a Digital Coach to request a free two-hour one-on-one session, or register to attend one of the regular events that are scheduled around the state.

New information is also available to Tasmanian businesses wanting to share in the state’s tourism boom by understanding how to access opportunities provided by the visitor economy.

Last year, visitor expenditure in Tasmania topped $2.33 billion and 67 per cent of visitor nights were spent in the regions.

Small businesses in markets not traditionally regarded as part of the tourism industry and those located outside the main tourism areas can help create unique visitor experiences that see customers become advocates for Tasmania and our brand.

The Tasmanian Government is a strong supporter of small businesses, which are the engine room of the state’s economy, driving and creating jobs for all Tasmanians.

Small business owners from around the state can access the website at www.digitalready.tas.gov.au
