Congratulations to Metro Tasmania chairman Michael Harris who was today announced as the Auditor General for the Parliament of the Australian Capital Territory.
Mr Harris has been Metro chairman since 2013 and, together with his Board, has overseen a period of strong growth in passenger numbers, network revitalisation and a fleet upgrade that leaves Metro well positioned to tackle the transport challenges of the future.
Mr Harris has been a passionate and professional advocate for public transport and has also served the Government more broadly, most recently as the independent chair of the Review of the Tasmanian Fire Service Act.
