Community feedback sought on draft TWWHA Tourism Master Plan

The Tasmanian majority Liberal Government is committed to providing high quality visitor experiences that celebrate and protect our wild places and their outstanding values.

To help achieve this a draft Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area Tourism Master Plan is now on public exhibition and Tasmanians are invited to have their say.

The Master Plan provides strategic direction to achieve a balance between opportunities for diverse, high quality visitor experiences within this globally recognised area, and protection and presentation of the cultural and natural heritage that underpins the significance of the TWWHA.

A critical component in shaping and developing the draft Master Plan has been significant public consultation to date and input from key stakeholders, including the Tasmanian Aboriginal community, the tourism industry and the National Parks and Wildlife Advisory Council.

The Tasmanian Liberal Government knows that many Tasmanians feel strongly connected to our natural places, so we encourage all members of the community who wish to find out more to download the draft Master Plan from the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment (DPIPWE) website.

Feedback on the draft Master Plan will be considered as the final document is prepared. Key issues raised during the eight-week consultation period will also be released to the public and feedback can be provided anonymously.

Feedback on the draft TMP closes at 5pm on 14 May 2020, with the final document to be released later this year.
