Commitment to Hobart Airport investment welcome

Today I met with Royal Schiphol’s senior management in The Hague and received their commitment to develop Hobart Airport and secure international flights to Tasmania.

Royal Schiphol, together with their co-investor, Australian company QIC, are global leaders in long-term investments in airports, with vast expertise and a successful track record in delivering major capital projects in Australia and around the world.

Importantly, TasPlan Super has retained a 30 per cent stake in the airport, meaning Tasmanian interests will continue as the facility grows, not only its size, but also its services, into the future.

Hobart Airport is one of the fastest growing airports in Australia and its new owners are extremely confident in the opportunity it presents for future expansion in what is now the nation’s strongest performing economy.
