I note Hydro Tasmania's Report into the cloud seeding event that occurred on 5 June 2016.
The report concludes that the cloud seeding operation had no measurable impact on rainfall that day.
Notwithstanding this, Hydro has agreed to undertake a full review of its cloud seeding policy and procedures to ensure appropriate measures are being taken in the context of future potential flood events.
Hydro has confirmed that no further cloud seeding operations will be undertaken until this review is complete and any necessary changes have been fully implemented.
This approach is important in ensuring public confidence in this type of activity and is consistent with the Government's expectations.
