The Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (TMAG) Children’s Festival opens today showcasing the creative energy of children through art, science, sound and movement activities.
Over the next six days, TMAG will offer a range of special events, displays, performances and programs produced for and by children, all with the festival theme in mind – ‘CREATE!’
This year, a special feature will see TMAG staying open until 8:00pm for the Da-Da Dance Party on Friday night.
Young visitors are encouraged to dress-up as their favourite artist, performer or inventor and bring their families along.
The success of the Children’s Festival over the past two years demonstrates the museum’s ability to create strong connections with key audiences such as children and families.
The Hodgman Liberal Government’s $1 million commitment to build a permanent children’s exhibition at TMAG will further encourage the growth of Tasmania’s vibrant cultural and creative industry.
The Children’s Festival runs from Tuesday, 17 April until Sunday, 22 April 2018.
