Cessation of disruptive industrial campaign welcomed

It is incumbent on all unions to follow the Community and Public Sector Union’s lead and end their industrial campaigns targeted at disrupting Tasmanians and return to the negotiating table.

The admission from the CPSU that its disruptive industrial campaign was preventing them from engaging in good faith negotiation is a positive step forward.

Now that the CPSU has called off its disruptive industrial action, the Government welcomes the union’s renewed commitment to return to the negotiation table.

The Government has always believed Tasmania’s hardworking State Service employees deserve a pay rise, but importantly, it must be fair, reasonable and affordable so we can continue to invest in frontline services for Tasmanians.
