The Penguin District School's first year was celebrated today with a formal acknowledgement of its founding through a successful merger of the Penguin Primary and Penguin High schools.
The schools amalgamated at the beginning of this year, creating a single Kinder to Year 10 school with about 650 enrolled students.
This important decision was made by the Penguin school community in order to better meet the diverse educational needs of the North-West town.
The Liberal Government is committed to investing in education to create a job-ready generation, and it is schools like the Penguin District School that will arm our young people with the skills they need for the future.
On behalf of the Government, I congratulate all who helped in bringing these schools together to provide greater opportunities for our young people.
