Celebrating our early childhood educators

Today is Early Childhood Educators' Day and the perfect opportunity for us to recognise and celebrate the work of our early childhood educators for their wonderful contribution to the wellbeing and healthy development of the young children in their care.

The entire early childhood sector deserves recognition for ensuring our youngest Tasmanian children are provided with safe and caring environments in which to play, learn and grow, especially during COVID-19.

Importantly, in response to recent challenges our educators have provided continuity for families in continuing to provide quality care for children during a time of anxiety and uncertainty in the broader community.

We know that investing in early learning is investing in the future of young Tasmanians, which is why our Government has introduced initiatives such as Working Together which provides opportunities for eligible three year olds to engage with up to 400 hours of free preschool.

The Tasmanian Government remains a strong supporter of the early childhood sector and I would like to thank all early childhood educators who work tirelessly to ensure our young learners have the best possible start to life and their learning journey.
