Catholic College extension schools investment welcomed

The Tasmanian Government welcomes the extension of three southern Catholic Colleges to Years 11 and 12.

Importantly, the extensions will result in upgrades to school sites which will stimulate the economy and create much needed jobs for Tasmanians as we recover from the impacts of COVID-19.

The announcement today by the Catholic education sector mirrors the Liberal Government’s commitment to extending all Tasmanian Government high schools to Years 11 and 12 by 2022.

Extension schools are part of a united and concentrated effort to ensure every Tasmanian student is able to successfully complete Year 12 or an alternative appropriate pathway in training or employment.
