Call for new arts council members

Tasmania has a strong history of recognition of the arts and the important role it plays in society, and to ensure this continues the Hodgman Liberal Government will establish a Ministerial Arts and Cultural Advisory Council.

Expressions of interest for voluntary positions over one, two or three year terms on the Council are now sought.

The Council’s aim is to provide strategic input to the Government on the arts, culture and creative industries, with a focus on collaboration between sectors and ensuring a strong, vibrant future.

It will be made up of the Minister for Arts as Chair, the Department Secretary as Deputy Chair and representatives from a variety of arts, cultural and creative industry backgrounds, and include regional representation. The Council will meet three times a year.
