Business confidence and conditions continue to soar

Tasmania’s business confidence and conditions remain among the best in the country according to today’s NAB Business survey.

According to the Survey, confidence is at +6, which is the second highest in the country and twice the national average.

Tasmania still leads the nation in business conditions which has increased to +25.  This is almost four times better than the national average.

Our increased visitor numbers, record retail figures and the economy growing at its fastest rate in six years are all accurate indications of the increased positivity in the business sector since the election of the Hodgman Liberal government.

What’s most important for confidence and business conditions though is job creation. Since the election, 4,700 new jobs have been created and there are more people in work in Tasmania than ever before.

The budget is back on track and heading for surplus next financial year, three years ahead of schedule.

We are now able to reinvest the dividends of our hard work into the core services of government, such as health, education and protecting the most vulnerable.
