Business cluster will be a force for Tasmanian jobs

The Hodgman Liberal Government is committed to supporting industry to generate the innovation, jobs and investment essential for building our economy and creating jobs in regional Tasmania.

That is why we are proud to support the first ever Business Action Learning Tasmania (BALT) Competitive Business Clusters forum in Launceston today through our Advanced Manufacturing Action Plan.

We know that advanced manufacturing is a key element in the ongoing strength of our economy and in delivering real jobs on-the-ground.

With our long history of manufacturing innovation, excellence and achievement, and through collaborative efforts, we can ensure Tasmanian manufacturing makes its mark nationally and around the world.

Business clusters bring together SMEs, large business, academic and non-academic research, finance, government and support industries, all located within a region to work collaboratively.

Congratulations to everyone involved in the business cluster concept which will allow our businesses, and our state, to work together to our common advantages and recognises that we are stronger together.

Through the collaborative framework established under the Tasmanian Advanced Manufacturing Plan, in conjunction with our Advanced Manufacturing Market Expansion Program and Advanced Manufacturing Innovation and Growth Voucher System, we continue to support this sector in driving its own destiny.
