Bumbling Bacon must explain backflip on venue-operator model

Labor’s bumbling Shadow Treasurer, Scott Bacon must explain why he is now opposing something he voted for three months ago.

This week Mr Bacon criticised our plan to move to a venue-operator model for pubs and clubs, despite voting for that exact model only a few months ago in the Parliamentary Inquiry into Gaming.

It was telling that Mr Bacon sent whingeing Josh Willie out to speak for him at a press conference about pokies on Thursday, in a desperate bid to avoid scrutiny until the media had moved on to other issues.

He has no credibility and now needs to clearly explain to Tasmanians how he can hold two completely different views, just months apart.

Meanwhile we will continue to get on with the job of improving the lives of Tasmanians.

Since Parliament rose, we have released 17 new policies that a re-elected majority Liberal Government will implement, while Labor have released four.

It highlights the difference between a strong majority Liberal Government that is taking action to improve the lives of Tasmanians, and a policy-free Labor that is whingeing from the sidelines.
