Building hospitality skills for business growth

The Hodgman Liberal Government is committed to supporting businesses across the hospitality sector by ensuring Tasmania has a skilled and capable workforce to support expansion and growth.

Accordingly, I am pleased to announce the Government will provide $50,000 to the Tasmanian Hospitality Association for its Hospitality Awareness Pilot Program, which will directly engage with employment providers to increase their awareness of the industry and its specific needs.

This program will help address identified gaps in the employment sector of the hospitality industry and what is expected of its workforce, which will in turn provide career pathways and real jobs to Tasmanian jobseekers.

It’s another important marker in our strategic approach to link businesses with a skilled workforce, which will improve opportunities for employment growth in regional areas, support jobs and career options for Tasmanians, and help businesses and industries to grow.
