The Hodgman Liberal Government is committed to helping Tasmanians in need and providing homes for people living with disability.
That’s why the Tasmanian Government has teamed up with Lyden Builders for a unique project for a very special girl.
Premier Will Hodgman said the project would provide a purpose-built house for Skylar and her family.
“The Tasmanian Liberal Government is pleased to assist, providing a new four bedroom home for Skylar and her family. This new purpose-built home will better cater to the family’s needs,” Mr Hodgman said.
“What’s more, Lyden Builders will pass on the savings of this project to Give Me 5 for Kids, for the benefit of the Children’s Ward of the Royal Hobart Hospital.
“I would like to thank Andrew Lyden, who approached the Government with his plan, which will not only provide a four bedroom house to cater for a family in need, but will potentially pass on savings to the Give Me 5 For Kids charity.”
Minister for Housing, Roger Jaensch, said the project highlighted the importance of providing purpose-built housing for people living with disability.
“This project is just another example of the Government’s Affordable Housing Action Plan 2015-2019 which includes improving the wellbeing of Tasmanian living with disability and their carers,” Mr Jaensch said.
“This includes new, universally designed housing and a dedicated investment of $20 million to deliver more accessible homes for people living with disability.
“The project demonstrates what can be achieved when people work together to make positive change.”
